What Tom Allen said after Indiana's win over Wisconsin
To say that Indiana’s win over Wisconsin was big would be an understatement.
They were 14-point underdogs going into this game against the Badgers and the Hoosiers held them to just six points overall in a 14-6 win. It got the Hoosiers to 6-1 on the season as they’ll surely rise again in the polls this coming week.
Jack Tuttle made his first start of the season for Indiana after Michael Penix Jr. went down with a torn ACL and he had his first two passing touchdowns of the season.
With Indiana riding high after yet another win, here’s what head coach Tom Allen had to say after the game.
Tom Allen: "We just keep checking off historical wins and opportunities for this program." #iufb

Tom Allen emphasized the word "team" all week. Postgame, he says, "When we talk about what a team win looks like in our program, this is one I’m going to point to."
Defense made plays, Jack Tuttle made key throws.
"This is a great team," Allen said, again. #iufb

Allen all smiles as he is asked about Jack Tuttle.
"Nothing like having a tough guy lead your team at that position. He comes running back out of the locker room. Jack comes running back and it gives you a boost. He proved himself." #iufb— PaulGable (@PaulEGable) December 6, 2020
Allen said he always has a chip on his shoulder and wants his players to copy that.
"We want to prove we are an elite team, can compete for and win the Big Ten. People have their opinions on that, but I believe we can. Never stopped talking about how you build a program." #iufb— PaulGable (@PaulEGable) December 6, 2020
Allen says again he always believed Indiana could have a top 10 defense #iufb

Three of the last four games, Indiana's defense has allowed only one touchdown.
"We have elevated the way we practice. Coaches bought into that," Allen said. #iufb— PaulGable (@PaulEGable) December 6, 2020
Allen says Kane Wommack did a great job and all the credit goes to him and the defense. Says he told Kane Wisconsin would have to score and go for 2 to win.
"Keep things in front of us."#iufb— PaulGable (@PaulEGable) December 6, 2020
Allen says he has the win probability from the PSU game on a notecard in his office.
"Oh yeah!" Allen says. #iufb— PaulGable (@PaulEGable) December 6, 2020
Allen: It obviously started last year those three road wins at Maryland, at Nebraska and at Purdue. That's where it all started. Win against PSU way we did it. Had .01 percent chance to win and we won that game. Creates so much belief #iufb

Allen: This is a really good football team. #iufb

Allen: When we talk about what a team win looks like in our program, this is what I will point to. #iufb
— PaulGable (@PaulEGable) December 6, 2020
Allen: So happy for our players. Lost 6 players and this team keeps on fighting, staying the course and doesn't blink. We are a football team and that team showed up tonight, hung together and feel so blessed to be the leader of this football team. #iufb
