A.J. Epenesa has notched his first career sack in the NFL. It comes three weeks into his rookie season with the Buffalo Bills.

In Sunday’s game between the Bills and Los Angeles Rams, Epenesa chased down quarterback Jared Goff to collect the first sack of his NFL career. That also counted as the former Iowa star’s first career tackle in the league.

Epenesa was a second-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft:

The Bills will want to see a lot more of that from the former Hawkeye the rest of the year.

Epenesa concluded his college career at Iowa with 49 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks in 2019. He also forced 4 fumbles and 3 pass break-ups as the Hawkeyes finished the year with a 10-3 record.

Buffalo is off to a strong start in the 2020 NFL season, going 2-0 through the first two weeks. The Bills have defeated the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins.
