Iowa is getting the offer in early. The program is hoping to welcome another Epenesa to the school in a few years.

On Friday, former Hawkeye football player and father of former Iowa defensive end A.J. Epenesa, Eppy Epenesa, tweeted out that his youngest son, Iose Epenesa, has received an offer from Kirk Ferentz and company. He is an athlete in the 2025 recruiting class.

While most schools are focused on the 2022, and maybe 2023 class, Iowa wanted to get the offer in to the youngest Epenesa.

“Today was a special day for me and my wife(.) Our youngest son Iose attending Mega Football Camp at Lindenwood University and Defensive Line Coach for the University of Iowa (Coach Kelvin Bell) OFFERED our son WOW!,” Eppy Epenesa wrote on Twitter. “Thank you Coach Kirk Ferentz and Hawkeye Football for this amazing blessing.”

Eppy Epenesa was a defensive tackle at Iowa and A.J. Epenesa was a star defensive end for the Hawkeyes. A.J. Epenesa was selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills.

Iose Epenesa has plenty of time to make a decision, but the Hawkeyes wanted to be one of the first schools to get that offer in.
