Amani Hooker recently signed a contract extension with the Tennessee Titans. However, it looks like the Titans will be facing an uphill climb the rest of the season, doing so without several key players.

It was announced by Titans head coach Mike Vrabel that Amani Hooker, Bud Dupree, Zach Cunningham, Ola Adeniyi, Treylon Burks and Joe Jones have all been ruled out for Sunday’s matchup against the Commanders per ESPN’s Turron Davenport.

The Titans will especially feel the absence of former Iowa Hawkeye turned Titan Hooker. In his two-year college career win Iowa City, Hooker amassed 125 tackles, six interceptions, one sack, and one touchdown. Hooker was awarded the Tatum-Woodson Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year as a Junior in 2018.

Hooker was drafted by the Titans in the 4th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 44 games since starting his NFL career in Tennessee, and he has 132 total tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 5 interceptions.

Hooker was recently sidelined with a concussion, missing Week 3’s contest against the Indianapolis Colts. He is currently going through the league’s concussion protocol in order to be able to play.
