Boston College defensive end Harold Landry won’t play in the Pinstripe Bowl against Iowa, head coach Steve Addazio told reporters on Tuesday.

Landry missed the final four games for the Eagles of the 2017 season with an ankle injury, but there was some hope he might be able to make a return for the bowl game. Unfortunately, that won’t be the case.

Landry appeared in eight games for Boston College this season, recorded 8.5 tackles for loss and 5 sacks to go along with 38 total stops. He played particularly well against Virginia Tech, racking up three tackles for loss against the Hokies.

The Eagles have played well over the last two months, even without Landry in the lineup. BC has won three of its last four contests (all without Landry) and five of the last six.

Boston College and Iowa will square off at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday evening, with kickoff scheduled for 5:15 p.m. ET.
