Iowa is gearing up for 2021, looking to keep the ball rolling after a strong end to the 2020 season.

Despite not getting to play in their bowl game, the Hawkeyes finished the year 6-2 and are on a six-game winning streak. After a couple of tight losses to open the year, it was a different story to end the season, setting the bar high for this group in 2021.

The Big Ten Network’s Bus Tour recently had its stop in Iowa City to take in a practice with Kirk Ferentz’s squad. Joshua Perry took time to drop his 3 takeaways Saturday afternoon, and two of the three highlighted the offensive and defensive lines.

In particular, Perry had some high marks for the offensive unit paving the way for Iowa:

“I really like the offensive line for Iowa – shocker, obviously,” said Perry. “They’ve got a guy on there: Tyler Linderbaum, who I think is potentially going to be the best offensive lineman in the country.”

Perry also took time to discuss the skill positions, an area where Iowa has a lot of young talent that will shine through in years to come:

“Some of the young talent on this team, specifically at the skill positions,” explained Pery. “Two-three years from now, it’s going to look absolutely nuts at Iowa.”

The Hawkeyes will open the season Sept. 4 at home against Indiana. Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm EST on BTN.
