Cade McNamara has unlocked Iowa’s offense after a sluggish start to the season opener. Now, the Hawkeyes are rolling against Illinois State, and there are no signs of slowing down in the 2nd half.

McNamara completed a hat trick with his 3rd touchdown of the game. This time, it came on a miracle throw as he was under heavy pressure and threw the ball up before going to the ground.

His prayers were answered with Reece Vander Zee able to elevate over some smaller defenders and grab the football out of the air. It’s the 2nd touchdown of the game for Vander Zee in his Hawkeye debut, and Iowa now has some confidence in the offensive side of the ball moving forward.

Iowa would eventually reach 30 points in the 4th quarter with Kaleb Johnson scoring his first touchdown of the season. He raced 64 yards for the score with the Hawkeyes in total control and looking ready to cruise to the finish line.
