Caitlin Clark has been a star for multiple seasons. The Iowa point guard found herself in the national spotlight this past spring as she led the Hawkeyes on an NCAA Tournament run.

Clark is back for the 2023-24 campaign. She visited Big Ten Media Days ahead of the upcoming season tipoff. On Monday, Clark revealed some of the big names who reached out on social media.

Patrick Mahomes was the first name that came to Clark’s mind.

“I’m a big Chiefs fan,” she said.

Clark also heard from basketball royalty.

“LeBron,” Clark added to the list after pausing, chuckling to teammate Gabbie Marshall.

Clark also noted that female athletes she watched growing up messaged her. She noted that US women’s soccer Alex Morgan and WNBA star Chelsea Gray reached out.

Caitlin Clark Fever made it beyond the sports world and into Hollywood. Clark noted that Amy Schumer featured Clark on her story. Jason Sudeikis, star of “Ted Lasso” and former “Saturday Night Live” cast member, also directly messaged Clark.

While the celebrity messages are fun, and help grow the sport of women’s basketball, Clark said she can “enjoy the moment” on social media, but knows not to let it affect her focus.

“When you’re in the NCAA Tournament, you’ve got to move on,” Clark said. “Next game’s coming, that’s just how it works.”

Clark and the Hawkeyes will look to get back to the tournament come March.
