Caitlin Clark put the sports world on notice with her exploits on the basketball court this past season. But on Wednesday, she drew large crowds of fans on the golf course.

The event is the John Deere Classic Pro-Am with Clark golfing alongside PGA stars in the event. She impressed with her golf swing and drew a heavy following on the course with pros Ludvig Aberg (front 9) and fellow Iowa native Zach Johnson (back 9) on the course.

After the time on the course, Clark addressed the press alongside Johnson. It provided some memorable exchanges, including a moment where Johnson recognized a reporter only to be passed over for a question directed at Clark.

For context, Johnson has won 2 major tournaments, including The Masters in 2007. He played off the incident well, chuckling and saying “I get it” after being passed up.

Clark was also asked what she learned about Johnson on the golf course. She claimed he is a funny guy, a point Johnson asked if his wife was able to hear in the press conference:

“Well, first of all, Zach’s pretty funny. I would give him that, he’s a funny guy,” said Clark. “We worked on my chipping a little bit, working more on my front foot, leaning more on my front foot.”

Johnson also joked about Clark’s eligibility and NIL potential with the Hawkeyes, saying he’s determined the star guard has 3 years of eligibility left in Iowa City:

“I’m making deals for Caitlin. I’ve figured it out, she’s got at least 3 years of eligibility left,” said Johnson. “3 years left, a couple of corporate deals. Shouldn’t be a problem.”

It was definitely a fun session between the two and a cool way to cap the outing.
