Caitlin Clark's dominance recognized on social media in regard to one insane statistic
Caitlin Clark is on another stretch of dominance for Iowa, recording a brilliant triple-double in a road win over No. 2 Ohio State Monday evening.
In that performance, Clark produced 28 points, 10 rebounds and 15 assists while shooting 8-of-19 from the field and 9-for-10 from the free-throw line. That improved Clark’s career mark of games with 25+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists to 33.
Clark already held the record for most such games in a career and widened her stretch over the second-place record holder, former Oregon star Sabrina Ionescu. The gulf between Clark and Ionescu is so wide, social media reacted to the idea that both stars are in “elite company” via a graphic from ESPN.
Not even the same planet. https://t.co/eI3ukrHyrE

Ionescu was ALWAYS tabbed as the best in the country. Fans drooled over how great she was. Clark does this and she can’t even win a POY award🤦🏻♂️🤔 it’s really bizarre. She was better than Bueckers, and Boston. Give her what she deserves. https://t.co/KUaXK2SWcj

Based off this stat alone:
This isn’t the same company.
It’s not even the same industry.
And Caitlin’s got at least one more season in an Iowa uniform.
If she comes back for a fifth season, she’ll own the NCAA record books forever. https://t.co/Ew2FrpQlQV

Caitlin by herself there is no company https://t.co/mgVv2YUhd7

Really stretching the limits of the word “company” https://t.co/m8o0QTpImM

Almost in a class by herself..

She has almost doubled the closest player!

For what it’s worth, reacting to Clark’s dominance in this particular stat should in no way be seen as a criticism of Ionescu. Both are and were dynamite performers in their own right, but Clark’s hold on this particular record is only going to grow in the days ahead.
