One of the top tight ends in the 2020 recruiting class has found a home at Iowa.

Three-star tight end Luke Lachey verbally committed to the Hawkeyes on Wednesday, making his announcement via Twitter. The native of Columbus, Ohio decided to head to Iowa City over offers from six other B1G programs, including Ohio State.

“100% Committed to the University of Iowa,” Lachey wrote on Twitter.

Lachey is a 6-foot-6, 220-pound tight end and is ranked as one of the top 15 players at his position in the 2020 recruiting class. He’s also the No. 12 player out of Ohio and cracks the top 500 overall.

Iowa now has 22 members in the 2020 class, ranking 20th nationally and fourth in the B1G. He’s the second tight end to commit to the Hawkeyes this cycle, joining three-star Elijah Yelverton out of Dallas, Texas.

Two dozen schools were interested in Lachey, and he was a hot target in the B1G market. He picked Iowa over Ohio State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Indiana, Rutgers and Wisconsin.
