Cooper DeJean is back in practice for Iowa and looking pretty good. The Iowa defensive back made a pretty one-handed practice grab in preparation for the team’s Music City bowl game against Kentucky.

DeJean was injured in Iowa’s game against Nebraska back in November. The month-long layoff probably aided his status for this Saturday’s game.

DeJean was one of the best defensive players in the B1G this season. The 6-foot-1, 209-pound sophomore has 68 tackles (53 solo), 7 pass breakups and 4 interceptions for Iowa. He was named first-team All-B1G by the media and second-team by the coaches.

The Hawkeyes are looking to end the year on a positive note after a rough start to the season in which they started 3-4. Iowa turned things around after a 54-10 blowout loss to Ohio State to win four straight games.

The Hawkeyes have relied much on their defense with the offense struggling for much of the season. DeJean has been a big part of that effort with Iowa ranked 4th in total defense in the country.
