Cooper DeJean scores on Iowa defense’s 2nd pick six of the day
Cooper DeJean put a second pick six on the board for Iowa, helping the Hawkeyes pull ahead of Kentucky heading into halftime on Saturday.
It was the second pick six of the day for Iowa, who were swinging some serious momentum against a 7-5 Wildcats team.
The first pick six of the game happened when Hawkeye Xavier Nwankpa ran in front of a wideout to pick the ball off after Kentucky QB Destin Wade tried to hit a Wildcat receiver down the field. Nwankpa then returned the interception for a 52-yard score.
DeJean didn’t have as far to go for his pick six, rushing in front of a receiver at the 13-yard line and reaching out to grab the ball. He then jogged over to the end zone, tagging the ball over the line for a TD.
