Cooper DeJean just saved Iowa with a clutch performance late in the fourth quarter against Michigan State. In a back-and-forth affair, the game remained tied at 16-all late into the game.

It all set up a strong defensive stand from the Hawkeyes with under 4 minutes to play in the game. The Spartans prepared to punt it away and were hopeful to give their defense a chance to force overtime.

DeJean never let it get that far. He fielded MSU’s punt on his own 30-yard line with plenty of space to operate. His blockers also created a lane to the sideline.

A couple of missed tackles and bursts of speed from DeJean and he was clear to the end zone to break the tie and give Iowa the lead.

Iowa tacked on a field goal and barring something extremely drastic, DeJean’s punt return touchdown will hold up as a game-winner in Week 5.
