Dane Belton’s first career interception as a New York Giant was a spectacular one.

The former Iowa safety was defending the pass, as Houston QB David Mills let one go towards the end zone from 35 yards out. Mills was trying to find WR Phillip Dorset, who was covered at the end zone line. The ball never made it to Dorset, as Belton leaped up to make the interception.

In his college career at Iowa, Belton started four games in his freshman season, playing in eight. In his sophomore outing, Belton collected 33 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 5 broken-up passes, and 1 forced fumble.

The safety was named first-team All-B1G in his junior year while amassing 46 tackles with 3 tackles for loss, 7 broken-up passes, and 5 interceptions.

Belton was drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 Draft after foregoing his senior year with the Hawkeyes.
