T.J. Hockenson has had a productive but injury impacted first season in the NFL.

The former Iowa tight end was taken by the Detroit Lions early in the 2019 NFL Draft. He has been a nice addition to the offense, catching 32 balls for 367 yards and two touchdowns.

Unfortunately, Hockenson’s season came to a premature end this week. He injured his ankle late in the Thanksgiving Day game against the Chicago Bears. On Monday, Detroit added him to the Injured Reserve list due to that injury.

It is tough to see Hockenson’s season end this way, but he definitely showed solid potential when he was on the field. His future with the Lions continues to look bright.

Hockenson finished his Iowa career with 73 catches for 1,080 yards and 10 total touchdowns.
