During Iowa’s game against Wisconsin, wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette got his second touchdown of the day and while he was scoring, he flipped and hurt himself.

After the game, Smith-Marsette (who missed the remainder of the game), talked about if he regretted the flip and if he’d do it again given the chance:
Ihmir Smith-Marsette says his ankle's good. Boot is precautionary.
"Do I regret the flip? No. Would I do it again? Yeah. I’m just happy we got the win. Everyone was having fun. My senior year, never going to play in Kinnick again … got to go out with a bang.”

He also didn’t seem to care if Ferentz would react negatively to his flip as the touchdown put them up 21-7:
Smith-Marsette says he wasn't thinking about whether Ferentz would be mad about his flip: "I don't think he'd be mad about being up 21-7."

When Ferentz spoke to the media though, he ended up saying that Smith-Marsette learned a pretty painful lesson with that flip:
Ferentz on Smith-Marsette flip: "He learned a painful lesson."

Whether Smith-Marsette tries a flip again remains to be seen, but if he does, he’ll have to be a lot more careful about it. Next time, a boot may not be around his ankle for “precautionary” reasons.
