Drew Stevens stepped up with a chance to play the hero in Saturday’s low-scoring affair between Iowa and Northwestern. He never panicked and provided a kick to send the Hawkeyes out of Wrigley Field with a win.

With less than 2 minutes to go in the game, Northwestern actually drove to tie the game at 7-all. Though points were at a premium, Brendan Sullivan carried the Wildcats down the field and found Cam Johnson for the touchdown with 1:50 remaining.

The ensuing drive for Iowa did not do much, covering just 37 yards. The big play of the drive was a 23-yard completion from QB Deacon Hill to Kaleb Brown. After that, the Hawkeyes were unable to crack the 35-yard line of the Wildcats.

It didn’t matter with Stevens stepping up for the 52-yard try. He was accurate right down the middle with a kick that sailed into the stands with 14 seconds remaining.

Regardless of the offensive issues at play, Iowa continues to rally as well as any team in the country and improves to 7-2 with the win over the Wildcats.
