The No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes are off to a perfect 5-0 start, and if the ESPN FPI Predictor holds, the black and gold fans in Iowa City are going to have a lot to celebrate at the end of the 2021 regular season.
With No. 4 Penn State the only ranked team remaining on the Hawkeyes 2021 schedule, and the game set for this coming week, the prospect of a perfect run through this fall is not only possible, but probable.
This weekend’s matchup with the Nittany Lions has Iowa with a 59% chance of victory, and their season closing game with Nebraska sitting at 53.6% — all the other games they have a greater than 68% chance of their coming away with a win.
The Hawkeyes were across from an explosive passing attack in Maryland last week, and rose to the occasion forcing six interceptions. This week’s showdown with the Nittany Lions will be the true test, as Iowa has yet to have a game decided by single digits.
Penn State will travel to Iowa City to square off with the Hawkeyes in a Saturday afternoon showdown this weekend — kickoff is set for 3:00 PM on Saturday, Oct. 9.
