Ex-Hawkeye Jack Nunge posts double-double in Xavier's upset of Ohio State
No. 19 Ohio State lost to Xavier 71-65 Thursday night, part of the Big East vs. B1G Gavitt Tip-Off Games. The Big East won the challenge 6-2 this season.
Jack Nunge, the former Iowa player, had an excellent night for the Musketeers as he went on to have a double-double against the Buckeyes. The Musketeers forward had 14 points and 14 rebounds in the win over the Buckeyes on Thursday.
To round out his performance Nunge added 3 steals and 2 blocks. His 14 points tied for the team-high in points in the upset win.
He had this sweet dunk against the Buckeyes as well:

Nunge had a rough year in 2020 as a Hawkeye as he lost his father and had multiple knee surgeries throughout his career at Iowa. He averaged 7.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game last season off the bench before the injury derailed his season.
He decided to transfer last season to be closer to home. You can read the full story of Nunge’s decision to transfer here.
The Musketeers are off to a good start on the hardwood as they are 3-0 and now have a win against a ranked Power 5 opponent.
