Former Iowa forward Cordell Pemsl decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal earlier this month, and now he’s found a new home to continue his college basketball career.

According to David Eickholt of 247Sports, Pemsl has committed to Virginia Tech to continue his career. He left the Hawkeyes after appearing in 28 of 31 games this past season. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

This season, Pemsl averaged 2.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. He often provided the Hawkeyes with a nice spark off the bench, particularly in the second half of the season.

Iowa ended the year with a 20-11 record, which included an 11-9 mark in B1G contests.

Pemsl’s 2018-19 season was cut short after undergoing season-ending knee surgery. He appeared in just two games that year, allowing him to utilize his redshirt.
