Filip Rebraca was part of the team that helped Iowa complete an impressive 21-point comeback to topple No. 15 Indiana on Thursday. The Hawkeyes won 91-89 at home.
Through the contest a new leader emerged for the Hawkeyes on the court, as sophomore Payton Sandfort led the team with encouragement and levelheadedness.
Rebraca pointed to the leadership of Sandfort as one of the big reasons Iowa was able to capture the win. On the court, Sandfort was heard raising his voice above the others, telling other players they “were good.”
During Thursday’s matchup, Sandfort scored 11 points, had 4 rebounds and 2 assists in his 25 minutes on the court.
Something notable last night: Filip Rebraca pointed to Payton Sandfort's leadership as a big reason for the 21-point comeback. When the early timeouts were called– he was one raising his voice telling his teammates that 'they were good.'
