As we approach the beginning of the first week of preseason games, we are starting to get clarification on rosters.

On Thursday afternoon, the New Orleans Saints made a roster move, letting go a former Iowa Hawkeye star defender in Jaleel Johnson.

The sixth-year defensive tackle was a fourth-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in the 2017 NFL draft. He played four seasons with the Vikings before spending last year with the Houston Texans. Johnson has played in 65 games over his first five seasons, totaling 110 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks with his best season coming in 2019. Johnson will become a free agent immediately and will be able to sign with another team.
