Former Iowa OL Sean Welsh announces his retirement from football
After going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft, former Iowa OL signed with the Washington Redskins and attended the team’s rookie minicamp.
However, after only one day of the camp, Welsh abruptly announced he was retiring from the game of football.
News broke of Welsh’s surprising decision to walk away from the sport on Friday afternoon:

Welsh released a statement on Facebook explaining his decision, saying he no longer felt the passion for football necessary to pursue a pro career:
Welsh has battled depression throughout his time at Iowa, penning a thoughtful note about it prior to his senior season.
What’s next for the former Hawkeye remains to be seen, but it appears his football career is over.
