Former Iowa TE TJ Hockenson was in the process of completing another career-best season with the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately, Hockenson’s season has been cut short with another devastating injury rocking the Vikings.

On Tuesday, head coach Kevin O’Connell confirmed Hockenson will miss the rest of the year with a devastating knee injury. That injury involved a torn ACL and MCL for Hockenson which is a brutal blow for the former Hawkeye.

Hockenson’s outlook for the start of 2024 is certainly unclear for now with the injury occurring so late in the season. Here’s hoping he is able to have a successful rehab process without any setbacks.

During the 2023 season, Hockenson was leading the Vikings with 95 catches for 960 yards as the team juggled injuries to Justin Jefferson and starting quarterback Kirk Cousins. Cousins sustained a torn Achilles after starting for the first 8 games of the season.

Hockenson’s catches and receiving yards are both career-best numbers. In 25 games with Minnesota the past two seasons, Hockenson has 155 catches for 1,479 yards and 8 touchdowns as a key part of O’Connell’s offense.
