Fran McCaffery needed help to lead a talented Iowa Hawkeyes team this season. At 6-foot-9, 230 lbs power forward Filip Rebraca is a player who has become a reliable, all-around player on both ends of the court.

McCaffrey talked about what Rebraca brings to the Hawkeyes:

I always say this. It was in there. He had already proven it at the collegiate level. He just didn’t prove it in the Big Ten from an offensive standpoint. From a defensive and rebounding standpoint, from an execution and basketball IQ standpoint, he was terrific last year. There’s no way we win 26 games without him in the starting lineup.

Through 16 games this season, Rebraca has averaged 14.5 points per game shooting a field goal percentage of 59.1%. He is also averaging 8.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game.

He has been one of the most definitive and highly efficient big men for Iowa since Luka Garza. McCaffery and Rebraca face Michigan Thursday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
