Fran McCaffery speaks on what Indiana win can do for Iowa's confidence down the stretch
Fran McCaffery’s team needed a tough win against Indiana after coming up short earlier in the year in other games like it. Iowa beat Indiana 91-89 in Iowa City on Thursday.
Iowa has struggled in late game situations before. This season, the Wisconsin game went to overtime and resulted in an Iowa loss. The Hawkeyes also could not find a bucket on the last possession of the Penn State game on New Year’s Day.
McCaffery noted that it’s great to have a jubilant locker room after a win like that.

“Yeah, we got the Wisconsin game to overtime,” said McCaffery. “We got the last possession and didn’t score at Penn State. So being able to finish one off and have sort of a jubilant locker room I think is really important.”
After snapping a three-game losing streak Iowa is looking forward to what 2023 will bring. The Hawkeyes have a chance to keep their momentum going against Rutgers next on Sunday.
Tipoff will be at noon ET on BTN.
