FS1 called out for multiple graphics mistakes during Iowa-Troy
FS1 found itself called out for multiple erroneous graphics during its broadcast of Iowa vs. Troy on Saturday.
Iowa shook off a tough start to win 38-21, but mistakes throughout the afternoon during the FS1 broadcast certainly were distracting. One full-screen graphic referencing former Troy head coach Jon Sumrall — now at Tulane — used the wrong photo:

Another miscue came when FS1 displayed an Iowa graphic with the words “Iowa State” below it (fast-forward to the very end):
The Iowa Hawkeyes, not the Iowa State Hawkeyes as FS1 suggested with their in-game graphic, took a 7-0 lead after this extra point from kicker Drew Stevens… pic.twitter.com/ivVWMUClqP

Yes, broadcasting can be hard, and mistakes happen sometimes. But with the game being shown to a national audience, the question of how mistakes like the ones above could have made it out to air deserves some answers, especially one that refers to Iowa’s chief rival and not Iowa itself.
Hopefully, FS1 (and FOX Sports by extension) does a better job the rest of the way and can avoid mistakes like that from happening again.
