Gennings Dunker has defended his championship in the popular Solon Beef Days hay bale toss.

Dunker won his second consecutive hay bale toss, and this time set a new record at the event of 14 feet, 6 inches. Dunker was able to dispatch of fellow Iowa offensive lineman Logan Jones in the final.

“I baled hay in high school. … So I’ve thrown a couple of hay bales. But I didn’t realize I could throw it that high,” Dunker said via The Hawkeye Report. “I didn’t realize it was such a big deal throwing hay bales, but I guess it was.”

An annual celebration in Solon, Iowa, the event features great food, live entertainment and family-friendly activities. It also is a fundraiser for local non-profit groups, and many service groups depend on Solon Beef Days as their largest fundraiser of the year.

Dunker last season saw action in 11 games and played left guard and right guard, and is expected to start at right tackle this season.
