I can’t believe that in our lord’s year of 2020 we still have to say this, but I guess we do: No one cares about your fantasy football team.

Your friends don’t care. Your co-workers don’t care. And the actual NFL players on your fantasy team certainly don’t care.

That point was illustrated yet again Monday by former Iowa Hawkeye and current San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle. His point was made in the comments section of one of his recent Instagram posts.

Kittle, who has been one of the best fantasy tight ends in recent years, had just five catches for 55 yards and no touchdowns in San Francisco’s 33-6 win against New England on Sunday. Apparently, one Kittle fantasy owner wanted to express their dismay to the tight end about his performance:

Look, folks. The job of NFL players is not to make sure we get fantasy points. It’s to perform well for their team. The 49ers won 33-6 on the road against New England. Did Kittle probably want more than 55 yards receiving? Yes. But is he happy with how things went since his team won? Probably.

Moral of the story: think twice before complaining to an NFL player about your fantasy team. Your odds of getting roasted like this guy are pretty darn high.
