Iowa has added another in-state product to its 2021 recruiting class.

Tuesday, the Hawkeyes received a verbal commitment from three-star athlete Cooper DeJean. The Ida Grove, Iowa native becomes the sixth player from the state to pledge to the program during this recruiting cycle. He made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

“Excited to announce that I will be committing to play football at the University of Iowa,” DeJean wrote. “I want to thank my family and friends for all of their support along the way!”

DeJean becomes the eighth player to commit to the Hawkeyes during this recruiting period.

Per 247Sports, DeJean ranks as one of the top 600 players in the 2021 class, coming in at No. 597. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect is also listed as the No. 11 player from Iowa.

DeJean held three other offers, with Iowa being the lone FBS program to extend an offer. North Dakota State, Illinois State and South Dakota State also offered the three-star athlete.

With the eight commitments in the 2021 class, Iowa currently ranks third in the B1G and 10th nationally.
