Iowa has received its first verbal pledge of the 2022 recruiting class.

Wednesday, the Hawkeyes received a commitment from 6-foot-3 guard Dasonte Bowen out of Boston. The 3-star point guard is ranked just outside the Top 150 overall players in the cycle, coming in at No. 153 per 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Bowen made his announcement with a post on social media. After thanking friends, family, support staff and coaches, he wrote, “but I can only choose one school. With that being said I will committing to the University of Iowa.”

Bowen received several major offers during the recruiting process. He picked Iowa over Maryland, Northwestern, Boston College, Georgetown, Miami, Penn Stat, Rutgers, Seton Hall, USC and Virginia Tech.

Per 247Sports, Bowen ranks as the No. 23 point guard in the class and is the No. 3 prospect out of Massachusetts.
