Iowa crossed into rival territory for its most recent commitment in the 2022 recruiting class.

Addison Ostrenga, a 3-star tight end out of Wisconsin, gave his verbal pledge to Kirk Ferentz and Co. on Friday afternoon, becoming the eighth player in the 2022 class to commit to the Hawkeyes. Ostrenga made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

“I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and football career at The University of Iowa!” Ostrenga wrote on Twitter. “I want to thank my family for all of their sacrifices, as well as my coaches and teammates for their support through this process.”

Per 247Sports, Ostrenga ranks as one of the Top 100 tight ends in the 2022 class and is listed as the No. 17 overall prospect out of Wisconsin. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end does not currently have any Composite rankings at this time.

Iowa’s 2022 recruiting class is still behind in the B1G, ranking last in the conference and 58th nationally. However, there’s still a lot of time until the Early Signing Period for the Hawkeyes to see drastic improvement.
