Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz finally delivered the Hawkeyes’ first win of the season on Saturday in a blowout victory against Michigan State.

Ferentz led off the presser by saying he felt like the team prepared well throughout the week prior to the 49-7 win over the Spartans.

Ferentz then moved on to discussing the Minnesota game from a number of different angles.

He announced Iowa’s captains for the game against the Gophers and discussed how it won’t be that different playing on a Friday night.

The Iowa coach gave respect to Minnesota’s offense, saying they’re capable of scoring 50 points on anyone. He added that his Hawkeyes and the Gophers are familiar with each other as Big Ten West foes.

Ferentz also didn’t let the moment pass without reiterating his team’s focus on being “vigilant” with COVID-19 protocols. Several college football games for this week have already been canceled due to the virus.

Ferentz concluded by talking about Iowa’s specials teams and more about Minnesota’s strengths.

Kick off in this game is at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday night. FS1 will have the broadcast.
