Ihmir Smith-Marsette calls Iowa a 'Hawkeyes state' after beating Iowa State
Iowa-Iowa State played Saturday night in a battle for the Cy-Hawk Trophy.
For four straight years, the Hawkeyes were winners of the rivalry game and Kirk Ferentz’s team made it five straight on Saturday. Iowa won the game 18-17.

After the game, Iowa players were hyped up. As they should be.
Wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette spoke with the media and got to talk a little trash in the process:
“They got a lot of stuff to say, so just being able to quiet them down and remind them it’s a #Hawkeyes state… it feels good.” Ihmir Smith-Marsette pic.twitter.com/RpCD50xgGf

Hey, if you win, you can take jabs like Smith-Marsette did here. And realistically, who is going to argue against him?
The last five matchups have all gone Iowa’s way. It’s hard to call it a Cyclone state at this point.
