Ihmir Smith-Marsette not listed on Iowa's depth chart for Week 9 matchup vs. Michigan
Iowa may be without one of its most athletic playmakers this weekend against Michigan.
On Monday, the Hawkeyes released their Week 9 depth chart and Ihmir Smith-Marsette was not listed as either a wide receiver or kick returner for the season finale on Saturday. Smith-Marsette sustained an ankle injury last weekend in a win over Wisconsin after flipping into the end zone late in the game.
Smith-Marsette limped off the field and was taken to the locker room. The receiver returned to the sideline in a walking boot, but he said after the game that it was just precautionary. It’s unclear whether or not the injury will keep him out of this week’s game or if he has opted out of the final game of the year.
Iowa is 6-2 this season, having won six-straight games after an 0-2 start to the campaign.

After catching 7 passes for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns, Smith-Marsette was named the B1G Week 8 Offensive Player of the Week. He helped lead the Hawkeyes to a 28-7 win over Wisconsin, the team’s first victory in the rivalry game since 2015.
This season, Smith-Marsette has totaled 345 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns on 25 catches. He also has 176 return yards on 8 attempts and 54 rushing yards and a score on 7 carries.
Iowa is scheduled to play Michigan this weekend to close out the 2020 season in the B1G.
