Illinois DT with over a dozen offers commits to Iowa

Iowa has added another member to its top 10 recruiting class.

The Hawkeyes received a verbal commitment from three-star defensive tackle Jeremiah Pittman on Monday night. He became the 15th member of Iowa’s 2021 recruiting class, which currently ranks 10th nationally and third in the B1G.

Pittman is a 6-foot-2, 255-pound defensive lineman out of Arlington Heights, Illinois. He made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

“I would like to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Iowa,” Pittman said in a social media post. “Thank you to all who will support my decision. Go Hawkeyes.”

Several teams shown interest in Pittman, as the Illinois native received more than a dozen offers. He also received plenty of attention from the B1G, receiving offers from Illinois, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern and Wisconsin, along with Iowa.

Per 247Sports, Pittman ranks as the No. 51 defensive tackle in the 2021 recruiting class and is the 24th-best player from the state of Illinois. He becomes the third defensive lineman in the 2021 cycle to commit to Iowa.
