Kinnick Stadium is now becoming known as one of the toughest venues in college football. Another win over a top 10 team on Saturday solidified that it’s a place where opposing teams have to play their best to escape with a win.

Over the last four years, Iowa has knocked off three top 10 teams, defeating Michigan in 2016, Ohio State in 2017 and now Minnesota in 2019. All three had College Football Playoff aspirations. The Wolverines and Buckeyes didn’t reach the field in their respective years, and the Gophers now must win out to earn a spot.

After another huge victory for the Hawkeyes under the lights at Kinnick Stadium in November, BTN analyst J Leman and Sports Illustrated college football writer Pat Forde debated whether or not the venue in Iowa City was the most daunting for top 10 teams.

They seem to agree that there is something magical about the Hawkeyes playing at home at night in November, especially against quality competition.
