It didn’t take long for Iowa to find its 2019 quarterback.

The Hawkeyes took care of that in the middle of June thanks to the news they got on Thursday.

Three-star 2019 quarterback Alex Padilla gave his verbal pledge to the Hawkeyes.

Padilla is the No. 29 pro-style quarterback and the No. 955 recruit overall in the 2019 class. The Englewood, Col. native  is the No. 7 recruit in Colorado.

Iowa gave Padilla his first Power 5 offer earlier in the week. But the 6-1, 190-pound signal-caller could get plenty of Power 5 interest if he doubles down on his 40-touchdown season in 2017.

The Hawkeyes currently have 10 verbal commitments and are now ranked No. 28 in the 247sports class rankings.
