Iowa’s 2023 recruiting class is growing.

Monday evening, the Hawkeyes received a verbal commitment from defensive end prospect Chase Brockney, a native of Colorado. He became the fourth player in the class to pledge to Kirk Ferentz and Co.

Brockney has received offers from six other programs, choosing Iowa over Colorado, Colorado State, Nebraska, New Mexico State, USC and Utah State. He made his announcement on Twitter.

Per 247Sports, Brackney is listed at 6-foot-4, 260 pounds. He does not currently have any composite rankings, but he’s listed as the No. 42 defensive end and No. 5 prospect out of Colorado for the cycle.

With Brackney’s commitment, Iowa’s class ranks No. 20 in the nation and No. 6 in the B1G.

Iowa also brought in the B1G’s No. 6-ranked class for the 2022 cycle, ranking 30th nationally.
