Iowa has rounded out its 2022 football schedule by adding a Mountain West opponent to the non-conference slate.

On Wednesday, the University of Iowa Athletics released a statement saying that it schedule a home game against Nevada for the 2022 season. The arrangement gives the Hawkeyes three non-conference opponents, in addition to the nine B1G games on the schedule.

Iowa will host Nevada on Saturday, Sept. 17 in the final home game of the non-conference season. It will be the first meeting between the two programs.

Currently, the Wolf Pack is coached by Jay Norvell, a former Hawkeye. He guided his team to an 8-5 record in 2018 and defeated Arkansas State in the Arizona Bowl. Nevada is 11-14 in two years under Norvell.

The Hawkeyes will play all three non-conference games at Kinnick Stadium in 2022. They will host South Dakota State in the season opener on Sept. 3 and will follow that game with the rivalry bout against Iowa State on Sept. 10.
