Iowa announces additional positive COVID-19 tests
Iowa’s athletic department has revealed the latest results from its most recent round of COVID-19 testing.
On Monday, the department announced that it conducted 30 screenings for the week of July 6-12, with four positive results. There were 26 negative results from the administered tests.
“Following the positive test result, protocol established by UI Athletics and medical staff, including contact tracing procedures, is being followed to ensure the safety of all UI Athletics student-athletes and staff,” Iowa’s statement said. “This mandatory protocol also includes isolation for the individuals who test positive, and quarantine for those individuals who might have been exposed to someone with the virus.”
Since testing began on May 29, the school has conducted 443 COVID-19 tests with 25 positive results and 418 negative results.
