The Hawkeyes announced on Tuesday the distincation will belong to Seth Wallace. In addition to his new title, Wallace will continue to serve as the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.

“Seth is an excellent coach and has been an asset to our coaching staff for many years,” said Ferentz. “He works tirelessly to develop our players into outstanding men on and off the field. I am grateful that he is a part of our program.”

As a part of the new role, Wallace’s base salary is being set at $1 million. His previous base salary was $755,000.

“Being able to coach at the University of Iowa with such great players, coaches and staff members is really an honor,” said Wallace. “The University of Iowa and this football program are both very special to me. I am appreciative of this new, expanded role and look forward to preparing our athletes for the upcoming season and beyond.”

Wallace has helped develop a number of All-American players during his career, including Josey Jewell and Jack Campbell. This past season, Jay Higgins was among the national leaders in overall tackles.

Along with Wallace’s new role, Iowa announced Phil Parker will receive a new base salary of $1.9 million. This past season, Parker was honored with the 2023 Broyles Award as the top assistant coach in the country.
