Iowa will aim to improve to 3-0 on the season when they host Kent State in Week 3.

Iowa is coming off a 27-17 victory at rival Iowa State. Iowa forced Iowa State into four turnovers and after halftime only allowed seven points.

Leading up to the matchup vs. Kent State, Iowa announced its team captains:

Petras passed for 106 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions vs. Iowa State. Petras’ QBR was 33.6. Koerner tallied five tackles. Kelly-Martin had eight rushes for 28 yards. Hankins recorded four tackles and a pass deflection.

Kent State is a Group of Five program that plays in the MAC. Kent State bounced back from a 41-10 rout at Texas A&M by routing VMI 60-10 in Week 2.

Iowa leads the all-time series 2-0 vs. Kent State. The last matchup was a 39-7 victory in Iowa during the 2004 season.
