Iowa moves up in Associated Press poll
The season-long climb continued for Iowa.
After locking down their best start in school history with a win on Saturday night against Minnesota, the unbeaten Hawkeyes moved up again in the Associated Press poll.
Thanks to losses from Baylor and Stanford, the Hawkeyes earned the No. 6 spot in the AP top 25. It marked Iowa’s highest AP poll ranking since it was at No. 4 following its 9-0 start in the 2009 Orange Bowl season.
Iowa had plenty of B1G company in the top 25. Ohio State continued an unbeaten start of its own and came in at No. 2. Michigan State and Michigan both picked up Saturday wins and moved up to No. 9 and No. 14, respectively.
Northwestern also held on for a 21-14 win against Purdue and jumped to No. 20 while idle Wisconsin climbed to No. 21.
The Hawkeyes have a chance to clinch the West title and their first spot in the B1G Championship if they can take care of Purdue next Saturday.
