Iowa assistant says Luke Lachey needs to 'be an asshole' on the field
Iowa assistant and tight ends coach Abdul Hodge had some interesting comments to share about star Luke Lachey.
During his Wednesday press conference, Hodge was speaking on Lachey and noted the TE is one of the friendliest guys on the team. However, he also wants Lachey to understand that it’s alright to “be an asshole” when he’s on the field.
Iowa co-captain Luke Lachey is pretty much the nicest guy on the team and smiles all the time but TE coach Abdul Hodge said Lachey is better understanding “it’s OK when you’re on the field to be an asshole.”

Fellow TE Erick All also spoke on Wednesday and commented on Lachey. However, All simply commented on the duo as a pair of “great players” at the position and labeled Lachey a monster for the Hawkeyes.
Erick All on the duo of him and Luke Lachey: “Just feel like we have two great players out there.” Adds: “Luke’s just a monster.”

Whether nice or “an asshole,” Lachey was a star in Iowa’s Week 1 win. He led Iowa with 7 catches for 73 receiving yards and is primed to shine in the Hawkeye offense this fall.
