Iowa baseball is still alive in the B1G Tournament, shutting out Michigan in the first game of Saturday’s action to advance to the championship game. The Hawkeyes previously opened the tournament with a win over the Wolverines, setting the stage to eliminate Michigan with Saturday’s win.

The story of the day for the Hawkeyes was starting pitcher Ty Langenberg. He produced 7 dominant innings against Michigan, shutting out the Wolverines with 9 strikeouts and just 2 hits allowed on the day. Will Christophers, Chas Wheatley and Luke Llewellyn followed to complete the shutout.

With offense at a premium in the game, Iowa received clutch knocks from Brennen Dorighi, Raider Tello, Sam Hojnar and Kyle Huckstorf. Three of those RBIs came in the bottom of the 7th to put Iowa up 5-0, a score that hold up to be the final.

Now, the Hawkeyes will wait to find out their matchup for the championship game between the winner of Maryland and Nebraska in the other semifinal. Sunday’s championship game is set for 3 pm ET on BTN.
