The player is Pryce Sandfort, a 4-star small forward out of Waukee, Iowa. Sandfort had generated offers from Drake, Clemson, Davidson, Nebraska, Seton Hall and Washington State before committing to the Hawkeyes.

Listed at 6-foot-7, Sandfort is a 4-star prospect and the No. 2 player out of Iowa, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. Sandfort is also the 119th player in the country and No. 25 SF for the cycle.
His commitment is a crucial one for the Hawkeyes and brings Iowa’s 2023 recruiting class up to 3 players. That group also includes 3-star power forward Owen Freeman out of Moline, Illinois, but Sandfort quickly became the highest-rated commitment for the Hawkeyes this cycle.
