Iowa basketball to play in inaugural San Diego-based tournament over Thanksgiving

Iowa basketball will head to California over Thanksgiving weekend to play in an inaugural tournament during the 2023-24 season.
On Tuesday, it was announced the Hawkeyes will play in the Rady Children’s Invitational in San Diego. USC, Oklahoma and Seton Hall will round out the field.
The invitation will be held at UC San Diego’s LionTree Arena with the semifinals played on Thanksgiving. The final and third-place game will be on Friday.

According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the event was conceived in conjunction with the Holiday Bowl, local tourism agencies and FOX Sports. Rady Children’s Hospital will serve as the title sponsor for the event.
