Iowa DB Jack Koerner pens heartfelt goodbye to the Hawkeyes
A key piece of Iowa’s defense is moving on and entering the 2022 NFL Draft.
Jack Koerner, one of Iowa’s leading tacklers 3 years running, announced on his Instagram that he is moving on and leaving the Hawkeyes. He originally joined the program as a walk-on in the 2017 recruiting class.
“Words cannot describe what being an Iowa football player has meant to me,” Koerner wrote. “I’ve made memories with my brothers I will cherish for the rest of my life while living out a childhood dream every single day. I am forever thankful for the opportunity to wear the black and gold and for all the incredible relationships I made along the way…I’m excited and eager to take all I’ve learned from this great staff and to pursue my next challenge and dream of playing on Sundays. Go Hawks!”
Koerner was Iowa’s 3rd-leading tackler this season with 88. He also had 2 interceptions, 3.5 TFL, and 1 pass defended. For his career, Koerner leaves the Hawkeyes with 215 career tackles, 6.5 TFL, 6 interceptions, and 8 passes defended.
